Corrections Policy

We aim to get every figure and statement in our guides right, and when we get something wrong we fix it openly. This page explains how to report an error and what we do about it.

In short

  • Report an error to [email protected] with the page and your source.
  • We acknowledge your report within 2 business days and check it against the primary source within 5 business days, or tell you if it will take longer.
  • Material corrections are noted at the end of the guide with the date and what changed.
  • Routine annual updates, such as new contribution tables, are shown by the last reviewed date and by dated figures.

What counts as a correction?

A correction is a change to fix something that was wrong when we published it: a figure, a date, a rule, a name or a description of a product. An update is a change because the facts changed, for example when a scheme publishes new contributions. We treat both carefully, but we label them differently.

What do we do when we find or are told about an error?

  1. We check the claim against the primary source: the scheme, insurer or regulator document, or the legislation.
  2. If we were wrong, we correct the guide promptly and add a note at the end of it, for example: “Correction, 27 October 2026: the 2027 contribution for option X was stated as R1,000; the scheme table shows R1,100.”
  3. If the error could have affected a decision, such as a deadline or a contribution, we say so in the note.
  4. We reply to the person who reported it.
